Gambling costs money over time. The house edge is not a warning label, it is the arithmetic that pays for the whole operation, and no bonus, filter or strategy changes it. Everything below follows from that.

Decide before you start

Set the amount you are prepared to lose before the first deposit, not after a losing run. A limit chosen calmly holds; a limit chosen while chasing does not. Treat what you spend as the price of entertainment rather than as an investment that should come back.

The tools in your account

• Deposit limit — a daily, weekly or monthly ceiling on what you can pay in.
• Loss limit — a ceiling on net losses over a period.
• Session reminder — a prompt showing how long you have been playing.
• Time-out — locks the account for a chosen period.
• Self-exclusion — closes the account for a longer term.

Lowering a limit takes effect immediately. Raising one takes longer by design, so that a limit cannot be removed at the exact moment it matters most.

Warning signs

Three patterns are worth stopping for, sooner rather than later: playing with money meant for something else; playing to win back what was lost; and playing down, in front of other people, how much time or money is involved. Any one of them alone means little. All three together mean something.

Accounts are for adults aged 18+ and over. If you share a device, use parental control software and keep login details out of reach. Accounts opened by minors are closed and winnings are voided.
